Tropical storm ‘Dolphin’ to enter RP Saturday night


MANILA, Philippines — Tropical storm “Dolphin" (international name) is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Saturday night, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Friday. The weather bureau said “Dolphin" was estimated at 1,600 kilometers east of Bicol region. It packed maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gustiness of 100 kph, and was moving west at 19 kph. No public storm warning signals were raised. “This weather system will start to affect Bicol region and eastern Visayas starting late Monday and bring scattered to widespread rains," it’s 5 p.m. advisory said. Likewise, a diffused tail-end will continue to persist until Saturday over southern Luzon and is predicted to bring frequent rains particularly in the provinces of Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate and Catanduances.
